   I really and truly believe dachshund puppies are the very cutest of them all-a totally unbiased opinion, of course! Will you look at those out of proportion ears? Dachshies are sickeningly cute as puppies, adult dachshunds are about as cute though in a different way, and elderly dachshunds are adorable , too. My long hair black and tan will turn 16 on March 6th, and she is gorgeous.

   Mimi (yeah, I post under her name) had to have a procedure done at the vet’s recently, and they had to hold her there all day. When I came to pick her up late that afternoon, the vet told me that she’d had a tech take her out for bathroom purposes. Apparently the tech got a blanket and went to Mimi’s cage,intending to pick up the Poor Old Feeble Dog and carefully carry her outside, put her down, and then carry her back in. Mimi was bouncing up & down when she saw the tech coming for her, wriggled free from her arms,then RAN to the door leading outside, jumping up & down while hitting the door with her front paws, shrieking over her shoulder at the tech to hurry up. The tech reconsidered carrying her and leashed her, on the grounds that ” if that dog made a break for freedom, no way I could catch her.” The vet said the tech asked, “THIS is almost 16 years old!?!?” Made me feel great to hear that .

   God bless her. I lost my doxie about a year ago, and she was only 12. I also think that Dachshunds remain cute their entire life.

     I’m sorry. And 12 is so young these days for a little dog, too.

     Every time I go to the dogs room to let them out, I hold my breath, wondering if this is the day that one or both won’t greet me. (Mimi has a chihuahua brother who will turn 15 July 22nd).

   i also have 2 doxie’s, well my boy I just had him put to sleep a few wks ago, he would have been 16 this may, my my little baby Mia is 13, i can’t stand the thought of losing another pet. I agree they are the cutest dog ever!!!

   I had 2 dachshunds one 16 years old had to have him put to sleep last tues . Broke our hearts . Have another one that is 5 years old his birthday was the same day as the day we had our precious 16 yr old to sleep. We had our precious creamated so I can keep him until my time to go then I will take him with me I LOVED him so much. They are trully great dogs
