When Bud Karli, an 86-year-old living in Waukee, Iowa first moved into The Village at Legacy Pointe retirement community, one of his primary concerns was the issue of keeping himself — and his Boston terrier Miss Casey — in shape.
Karli was worried that Miss Casey would not be able to adapt to apartment living, but then he had an idea for finding away to help Miss Casey keep living an active lifestyle.
“I thought, I’ll make things easier for the exercise by teaching her to ride on a treadmill,” Karli said. The process was slow going to begin with, and Miss Casey was originally terrified of the treadmill, but as the video above shows, she’s come to love and need the machine in order to stay happy at her owner’s side.
