Are “we” (meaning the folks here at Cheezburger) sure that this is not a sick photo of a dog killing a cat? And yes, there are people who take pictures of such stuff…and worse…;)
Hmmm…. kitty hasn’t got the claws out, so I think they’re friends…and having recently been taken apart by one of my lovelies, I know that claws come out very, very quickly. :S
No, I don’t think doggie’s being malicious. (fingers crossed)
Methinks these people have never owned a cat and dog before! If that cat was being hurt you most definitely would not get a photo of anything but a blur because that cat would be ripping doggy face to shreds. Hurt cats do NOT just sit there and politely meow about it, not even your nice indoor slightly obese cats!
(I mean come on, ever pet your cats belly too much? We barely live to tell about it!)
Cats also purr when they’re in pain, BTW. I mention this because an acquaintance of mine told me the tale of how his dog would grab his cat by the neck and drag him around the yard, shaking, etc… but it was OK, because the cat was purring LIKE CRAZY afterwards.
Better caption: Bloody murder commences in 3… 2… 1…
Let me guess, some of you (I’m looking at you, Roby and Boakes, Patrice) are PETA… +rolling eyes upward+
Dogs carry their puppies the same way cats carry their kittens. If this cat was in fact in a bad way, the dog would have figured it out really quickly by the “curse of a thousand cuts” and subsequent “cat scratch fever.” Remember, domestic house cats are not that far removed from feral, and they are ALL predators.
Short shift: Kitty can take care of itself.
It’s an amazing thing called “thinking.” Try it some time.
Or the cat could be declawed and seconds away from a violent death from being shaken by the neck (as we all know dogs love to viciously shake things like tug-of-war rope toys, towels, shoes, and oh, just about everything back and forth at high speeds) .
Perhaps you should try this “thinking” you’re telling others to do?
Well, of course. That’s how two grown animals may have coexisted in the same house long enough to develop mutual behaviors, so that the photographer may anticipate this so the shot may be taken.
Is that what this “thinking” stuff is? I think I like it.
My grandfather had a dog that looked like that. Does anyone have an idea what breed it is or what it’s a mix of? It was a great dog with children. Thanks!
Nawt want teh baff!! Ai keel U!!
so your dog has your cat in it’s mouth, and you stop to take a picture?
Yeah really, what kind of sicko does that?
People who understand the cat’s not really being hurt. The dog is just trying to carry her the way that a puppy would be carried.
Are you kidding?!
Think of the emotional scarring of that bath.
What, you don’t? Always blog before calling the EMS.

Or, perhaps, the cat really does like it.
I’ve seen stranger…and they tend to nap in “hit by a train” positions.

I’m pretty sure that cat has teeth.

If its legs are not hidden beneath the body and instead out of frame, it is the mythical Llama dog.
If they are, as the shadow seems to indicate, it looks like a golden retriever mixed with a corgi. An underrated mix, to be sure.
great pyrenees, i believe. beautiful, gentle dogs
I have a dog whose bigger but whose head looks similar (including markings). She’s a Samoyed/Border Collie mix.
opps maybe not…just realized that dog is not very big
Is that a “Homeward Bound” reference?
