This might not be worthy of a lolz, but it’s definitely worthy of an aaaaaawww.
When New York City firefighter Jim Lanigan and his crew from NYC’s Ladder 5 responded to an apartment fire in SoHo Thursday, they managed to put out the blaze before anyone got hurt. But more amazingly, Lanigan managed to save the life of a tiny terrier pup… by performing conventional CPR! And by the looks of it, both Lanigan and the puppy are happy the procedure worked.
Puppy lovers can read more about the rescue mission here.

He’s so cute!!!! Definitely an AWWWWWWW picture!
CPR was successful!!!!! That’s one happy (noisy or yawning) little pup..
Great job by the fire department.
Kudos to the FD. They save lives, even furry ones.
There is a great story of a conservation officer in British Columbia, Canada, reviving a black bear with conventional CPR after it stopped breathing following tranquilization and falling out of a tree.
Mai gudniss!!!
Outstanding. God bless you and keep you safe.
Cute fireman~cute live puppy~ WIN!
Hahaha, how cute the puppy.
Thanks for the news- this made my day (and it wasn’t a good one at all)
EPIC WIN! The FDNY rocks!!!
The FDNY – unmatched throughout the world. The idiot politicians in NY keep making the job more and more difficult with their stupid cutbacks but they keep on fighting the good fight.
Hooray for the fireman saving the little pup!!
I love the fact that our men and women go out of their way to help our four-legged friends!
Want dat brave hero tew lib long adn prosper, saem fur goggeh!1!!!!
“conventional CPR”… does that mean actual mouth to mouth? cos I happen to know that if you’re doing it to dogs you do it mouth to nose…
Now that made my day!
Is that fireman single, and may I please have his number/email?
I love happy endings.
Truly EPIC WIN!
Thank you, Mr Lanigan.
Good karma coming back on you:)
Take care.
This is absolutely, positively the most adorable picture I have ever seen. Both fireman and dog…what a great story! Hats off to ALL fireman, really and truly, I have a deep respect for what you do. It’s a very dangerous job, yet there are those who choose to do it. All heroes in my book. Be safe guys…and carry on. Thank you from Ohio for saving all those adorable Yorkie babies. Awww-wwwww
