GL in Iraq. when I deployed a decade or two ago (uhum), I played for days with my dogs and my moms. When I came back though, the dogs didn’t want to be seperated!

i would be texting the following “at the beach. playing with my dogs. dont try to get in touch with me for the rest of the day” then turning my phone off.

i am about to deploy to iraq, i am leaving my two dogs with my parents (and their dogs) and still spend more time in the back yard playing with them than anything else.

Reminds me of when I got my first computer, way back in 1999. For about 2 weeks after we got it de boxed and hooked up and operational, every time we’d turn it on our two dachshunds would come running and jump up on us , whining and trying to get our attention.They knew we were giving a lot of attention that had once been theirs alone to the funny Box Dog up on the new desk. We felt guilty about the dogs’ obvious jealousy of the computer and tried to make it up to them by lavishing attention on them whenever we weren’t surfing, but it was…awhile…before they got used to having a computer around.
They showed more jealousy towards the computer than they did when we got first one new dog in 1997 and then a second one in 2000!
