and with a choke collar AND a shock collar…poor dog. they deserve to step in that oopsie

    • Net, the electronic collar is no worse than the pronged collar which i might add has killed dogs and caused serious injury.. the shock collar has not—– the owners caused the injuries from not removing the collars and ignoring the warnings about the tightness….

  6. Dog Trainer says:

Making snap judgments as to why a dog is wearing training collars without any knowledge of the actual dog clearly shows ones vast training knowledge and experience. For all you know it could be a half check and an invisible fence.

  7. j says:

Hey net! Ever own a boarder collie. If you did you may understand the the whole choke collar thing. We avoided using one at all costs with mine, but the only thing that would slow her down was the choker. Actually she “chokes” herself less with the choker than the regular collar. Also invisible fencing keeps dogs safe and allows them to roam around at a fairly cheep cost to the owner. Much cheaper than constructing an actual fence.

  8. I think that any training tool used properly is a great tool. For the people who use the pinch collar or Pronged collar should know that the prongs have been known to stab the skin and or break small bones from pulling. the electronic collar has never killed or injured a dog….. however irresponsible owners who fail to use the collar correctly and irritate the necks and correct the dog on a higher level when not needed are the ones who make the collars look bad. I personally use them on my beagles and they get excited to see them and wear them… they know that they are going somewhere or allowed to run off leash. before you doubt the electronic collar— do your research with the manufacturers.
