Well, my female dobie looks like a tank but IS a lapdog and a baby. She just follows you around everywhere and wants to be with her family & loved ones all the time. If a stranger walks into the home or approaches you in a funny way she’s got instant ignition though – she won’t attack immediately but will step ahead and face the threat. Fearless b**ch! I love her.

my neighbor has a Dobie (4 years), and he’s a couch potato/lapdog. when the creepy guy down the street starts wandering around Bruno’s tough stuff, but otherwise he’s a mooch and a bit of a baby… is that normal for Dobies?

That’s true. But even thought how cold this sounds, peoples want a German Sheppard to “look” a lot like a normal German Sheppart, so the German Sheppards with the most “good-looking” genes tend to be sold first. But I agree, I’m quite against nail dockers, sterilizing and tail- earclipping.

This beautiful dog has been mutilated by idiots. I despise ear clippers and tail dockers, both the breeders that do it for no good reason and the kennel clubs who condone it by handing out prizes to dogs which have been deliberately and pointlessly disfigured. They don’t give “Best of Breed” trophies to dogs with one eye or three legs, do they?
