beavis, it’s an unfortunate fact that dog fighting knows no boundaries regarding color, location, education or economic status. I know because I help rescue these dogs across a multi-state region, and we’ve found them in every imaginable setting in rings run by people of every ethnic/cultural background under the sun.
Bless your heart for rescuing these dogs! I’m currently rehabbing a formerly very abused black lab.
This actually looks like my last dog Zeus who was stolen away from me. There were witnesses seeing the dog taken into a car so I hope my little Zeussy poo is ok! B/c around the area he was stolen, it was rumored they did dog fights there!

Read the caption. “How could you do that to a face like this” I find it beyond improbable that anyone (the “you” part) browsing around on this site would put a dog in a dog fight. It is a moot point. On the proactive side it provides absolutely no information for positive action. All it achieves is a few tugs of the heartstrings and then everybody moves on. I wonder if you have started devoting your time to cracking dogfight circles since you saw this image? Perhaps it’s the cynic in me but I do have my doubts.
Emotion is a grand force in creating action, and this picture makes people sad and angry enough to do something about it. If it didn’t provoke emotion, you wouldn’t be here complaining about it now would you?

Vislas are always solid red/ginger-colored and delicately built, with a sculpted face similar to the Weimeraner dogs. They also don’t have clipped ears or prominent nostrils.

Um… 1.Butterflies and ladybugs are not roaches and fleas. 2. Fleas can get on goggies and kittehs and make them itch and fleas and roaches can infest your home. 3. What does this have to do with fighting dogs and PETA which are both very bad things?
There is a difference between killing a cow to eat, and making a dog suffer just for your entertainment.
I agree that farm animals should be treated better, especially in some of the “developed countries” that breed and kill way to many animals, and keep and kill them in ways that are only best for their wallet, and not for the animals.
But I don’t think it’s right to call people hypocritical, just for caring about the fate of these dogs, and eating meat at the same time.
I eat meat (but not pork), and I worked with pigs, cows, goats and chickens for some years on a small farm. Most of the animals I took care of went to slaughter. They were happy and well cared for, and they died a quick and painless death. That’s way more kind then what nature would give them.
Hey, it’s not my fault cows & pigs are so darned tasty! >:D If I didn’t live in the middle of suburbia, I’d raise my own cows & pigs to eat. Unfortunately, my neighbors only live like, 6″ away from me, and they might get annoyed.

What I don’t understand is why people get bent out of shape over something like this, but if it’s a “hero” caption (Firefighter, soldier, EMT, etc) that’s all fine and dandy and no one says “I come here for LOLs, not tears.” Geez Louise!
That said, I find dogfighting one of the sickest things humans can do to animals. But any form of animal abuse, whether it’s neglect or wagering on which dog will kill the other, disgusts me. One reason I’m actually glad I can’t afford cable – Animal Precinct would have me in tears every.single.time.

The person who lamented people crossing the road when they see a pit-bull coming: I’d be more careful of an Aussie cattledog than a pit-bull, or a rottweiler or a lot of those “notorious” breeds! Also, it reminds me of a friend of mine: A metal-head, all dressed in black and spikes and skulls, but a total sweetheart, a “marshmallow in spikes”. It breaks his heart when people cross the road when they see him coming, too. Poor marshmallows-in-spikes

But I do agree; I used to work in a pet supply store, and when people would bring in their chihuahuas to be fitted for harnesses and whatnot, I’d always ask if the dog was nice because believe it or not, I’ve been attacked by quite a few little dogs with Napoleon complexes. Never been attacked by a pit bull/rottie/German Shepherd…go figure.
I would have to say the Hero thing is every bit as obnoxious. It’s incredibly cheesy and lame. I think the biggest problem people have is the attitude with which these come off. It’s somehow pompous and smug. I couldn’t tell you why, but that’s how it seems to me at least.
A suitable punishment for Michael Vick is to put him in a room with his dogs. Alone. If he escapes, shoot him.

Vick’s surviving dogs would never harm him. Fighting dogs are killed outright if they show aggression to their handlers, or to people in general. They’re bred to be dog aggressive, not people aggressive. That’s the main reason they can be rehabbed. They still respect humans, even if they carry fear and mistrust after years of abuse. Pitbulls are the most loyal breed I have ever worked with.
STFU Trolls. This is pibb, no doubt in my mind. Also, if you can’t deal with a PSA every once in awhile, GTFO the part of the internet where people actually give a damn about other beings and go back to 4chan.

I have a pit bull/lab mix. All of my neighbors think he’s a sweetheart, but one of my neighbor’s girlfriend acts like he’s the baddest dog in the world, she refuses to walk past our place when he’s outside, she even freaks out other people who come by with her by saying our dog is bad. Her BF is like “WTF he’s not a bad dog he’s a damn sweetie.”
I take him for walks around the neighborhood and all I ever hear is what a beautiful dog he is and how well behaved he is, when they ask what kind (sometimes you can’t tell) I say half PIT BULL first, then half lab. 9 out of 10 of those people will go “aww he’s very well behaved for a pit bull” Yeah, cuz my gal and I take good care of him and train him well. Hurt my Pibble and I’ll hurt you!
My parents also had a pibble/lab who always got the same reactions, save for the scaredy-cat girlfriend on your block. She was a great dog, bright, well-behaved, and knew exactly how playful she could be with everyone. My stepmom, though, almost always had to say that Buddy Girl was just a “lab mix” because of all of the pibble stigma here in Indianapolis and the burbs. Horrible attacks here by neglected, untrained and unrestrained pibbles caused awful public outcry and now Indy is trying to get all pibbles, mix or pure, to be neutered. These are great dogs. If you have an energetic, active lifestyle, adopt one, you won’t be sorry.
It makes people mad because it’s annoying being preached to. The kind of people who do the preaching don’t understand that their opinions are not asked for and can’t fathom why people react negatively to their attempts to promote awareness. Everyone knows how terrible the dog fighting thing is. Everyone’s aware of it. It’s a terrible, terrible thing. We don’t need someone on a website we come to for laughs trying to “enlighten” us on the matter. It’s like going to a comedy movie and having it be an unfunny psa that has nothing to do with the context of the film every ten seconds.
I think you’re forgetting that it’s a site about dogs. Under that criteria, the caption belongs here. And there’s always a moral or some sort of revelation in any movie (at least the good ones) comedy or otherwise. There’s a message within the caption. If you don’t like seeing it, that’s fine, scroll on past it. There are plenty of other LOLZOMGFUNNEH pictures on this site that won’t make you feel like you’re being lectured at.

As owner of two wonderful, loving, loyal pibbles I just get so angry at people…. people who are prejudiced against all pibbles b/c they’ve “heard bad things” about them, and people who perpetuate the stereotype by breeding crazy unstable pibbles and training them to be mean. Don’t be a stupid owner/breeder, and don’t pass judgement on a breed of dog you’ve never personally owned!! And do some research for goodness sake before you pass judgement. A breed standard pibble is the most loving 40+ lb lapdog you’ll ever own.

I did volunteer work for a group called “Operation Pit-Nip”(they would get warrants to confiscate fighters & try to re-home them in loving families; after spaying/neutering them). That is one of the SWEETEST faces I’ve seen in a while!
I had not thought anything of dogfiights recently; now my awareness of dogfight evil has been reawakened. So, thanks to the sweet goggie and the caption for the PSA.
I was leery of pitbulls (only ever heard the bad rep they get), then a lost adult pitbull adopted my daughter and her husband. When I visited, he decided that I was the most wonderful person in the world, and he wanted to spend all day with his head on my knee…….or better yet, sit in my lap, if I allowed it! Now, much to my surprise, when I think of a trip to visit my daughter and family…I am lookinig forward to seeing Gryphon again almost as much!

Stop the self righteous ‘animal rights’ bullcrap, go to your local pound, and volunteer 10 hours a month for three months. Try to get in on kill days if you can. You watch those animal lovers lead the dogs into the room, and tell me that dog fighting is the leading cause of unnatural / preventable death in animals.
Arguing against dog fighting without adopting and helping homeless animals is like claiming to be vegetarian and wearing leather. You’re not committed, you’re in it for the glory and ‘moral high ground’ over other people.

By the way, since I can’t edit comments, I did mean that you should watch the volunteers up at the kill shelters deal with other people’s messes, and the grief it causes them.
I’ll bet your heart can’t take it. Why don’t you stick by the vet that does the injections? These kinds of pictures don’t do those vets justice. They don’t do the animals that have died justice. They are just a STUPID status statement.
And how do you know people here don’t adopt or volunteer at shelters…? That’s quite an arrogant assumption. Maybe it’s BECAUSE they’ve had experiences and relationships with unwanted and abused dogs that they become angry with dog fighting topics. All the dogs I’ve ever owned for 20 years have been rescues. I’ve worked as an animal physical therapist to rehabilitate critically injured strays so they might get well enough to be adopted by a family. Just sit back and chill out.

And one woman i respect fully and have met in person over a year ago is formely from the show LA Ink. Miss Amber (pixie) Acia. she has her own foundation where they go around saving rescuing pitbulls and has her own fund raisers and does all kinds of things to save these poor dogs from abuse and mistreatment as worded here in this photo.
I subscribe to the daily emails from the LOL dogs website because they make me laugh. The inclusion of the dogfighting photo is inappropriate for an email that is meant for amusement. We all know that the fighting is wrong, and if we want to see photos of it, we will go through the appropriate channels to do so. Please stop including them in the LOL dogs emails.
Sometimes people just want to make a point. This person wanted to make this one about this picture. So be it. It got my attention. too all the nasty peeps out there that cant take a minute out of there laugh routine and think about the hundrdes of dogs that are treated inhumanly in our world I think that you do not deserve to feel the joy and laughter that the canine world has to offer to us so you need to find another place to relax and smile in your shallow little world other than an animal lovers world. Am I the only one who seriously doubts the integrity of this person’s emotionally manipulative “loldog”? Take a look at her other photo-captions. Pay particular mind to the one about how deaf people should “get hearing aids b*tches”. Sooooo…. she care’s deeply for dogs but when it comes to the deaf…. Hmmm. interesting.
I am neither here or there on the occasional non-LOL loldog. They’re cheesy, but most of the pictures are cute regardless of the captions, cute goggies are cute, capshuns r added bownas.
I would like to point out, though, that saying people who hurt dogs/animals should be “shot” “killed” or in other ways have violence enacted on them is not at all a useful response. Violence begets violence. People who do vicious things need to be rehabilitated too. Not to mention that many of those (note: I said many, not all) who are training and participating in dog fighting are themselves suffering from terrible living environments/life experiences, and other mistreatment. It seems to me that we should maybe value human life as much as we do animal life.
And for anyone who says you didn’t mean shot/killed etc. literally, read through all the comments, some folks are pretty detailed in how they’d like to harm people to show them that harming animals is wrong. Violence is terrible. Period.
Judging by the amount of comments on this dog and its caption, I would say everyone loves him!! He has such an adorable expression!! He seems to be just begging for one more doggie treat, who could resist that look? I love doggie faces.

Quick story:
My sister saw a guy walking a pretty beat up Pitt. She had scars and did not look good. Now my sister is 6ft tall slender punk rocker who can take on any guy. So she walked up to the guy and asked him about the dog. He told her that he fights the dog. My sister blasted this guy in the face with all her might and took off with his dog. That dog lives with her to this day. Her name is Penny and she is a happy puppy although she is dog aggressive (surprise surprise…) I am so proud of my sister for doing that regardless of what anyone says or thinks.

Like it or loathe it, this picture has done its job. Its made people stop , think and discuss an issue that they might otherwise avoid if they could help it. And to be fair it was not violent advertising for an agenda, they could of done a PETA and shown a fighting dog bloodied and scared and unloved. Thank you for putting this talking point up, and I bow to anyone who rescues these innocent creatures from humans who enjoy the pain of other beings.
Dog fights are only done by people who have a brick where their heart should be. Dog fights are only pure evil!
