Part of me is cringing at this. Who knows what that doggie tongue has handled and is going up against that baby’s un-developed immune system?! Right on the face! Ick!
The other part of me is going AWWWWWW! If you ignore the other part, this is one of the sweetest pictures EEEEEVAAAAR!
Meh, we survived being licked in the face and eating dirt.

When you think about the conditions in which babies all over the world live, this pales in comparison. And, I agree about the sweetness factor.
nah, dogs saliva have something it that counteracts that. Its how they can lick their butts and not get sick.
Dog’s mouths are cleaner than human. Moms dont clean ur babie’s stuff with your mouth! xD wierd to say but you know… ppl do it. if the baby drops (or throws) their binky on the floor moms and dads sometimes use their mouths to clean it… eww xD
This is actually my picture of my daughter and our dog.
My daughter was about 10 days old when this was taken. The dog was actually only a few months shy of seven when this picture was taken- he went prematurely gray.
Today my daughter is almost two and they are best friends.

This is wonderful! My sweet Rottie/Doberman/Lab/Shepherd cross loved children and carefully licked their faces and hands. Seeking stray jelly molecules, I think.

Teh goggie will make the imune system of teh bebeh stronger. Kids that grow up with pets statistically have less allergies and asthma. And we know they get some extra love too.
Pizz: not only are you right, but the positive emotional effects of pets may be causal in relationship to those same children have fewer allergies and less trouble with asthma!

That dog has the most magnificent look of gentle, love and caring on it’s face!
While I am all for parents being extremely careful w/ pets and kids (for both sides), it is known that animal saliva also has anti-bacterial properties, to some extent, if taken care of properly. That is why animals clean their own wounds by licking. That is why kids who get lots of exercise and outdoor time are healthier.
