Goggie loses all sense of dignity. But hey! Less trips outside! ..wait… in’t that a bad ting?

horrible. why would you do this to a dog!

    • Jacy says:

You would do this to a female dog so that she doesn’t drip tiny drops of blood all over your carpet and furniture when she goes in heat for nearly a month. It beats the alternative of putting her outside where all the male dogs can get her.

    • nell says:

actually, this is something we used to do to our little poodle all the time. It doesn’t hurt them. We did it because if we ever left him home alone he would get mad and pee on everything he could get to. The diaper prevented that. Of course it was off when we were home. We also used it on our boxer for when she was in heat, it was a way to keep her from making messes in the house that she couldn’t help. (And before you say anything, we wanted to breed her which is why she wasn’t fixed) It doesn’t hurt them at all, but saves on a LOT of cleaning up.

Not to mention that there are many dog owners (especially in the show circuits…and I don’t just mean the breed shows) who simply prefer the personality of a dog that hasn’t been altered by spaying or neutering. The removal of the organs which produce hormones does have some affect on the dog and how they act, though often it’s only the most observant type that spend the greatest portion of their day with their dogs that notice.

Incontinence is very common in older, spayed female dogs. They makes special diapers for dogs that have a hole in them for the tail. They are also used for unspayed dogs in the same way that sanitary napkins are used by human females.

      …and now you know.

      • Paul says:

Not to mention, that when you have a baby in the house, you don’t want dog crap on the floor, even for a minute. The baby will find it faster than you nine times out of ten.
