my dog hated the hose. i had to sit with a bucket to bathe him and it would take a good 2hours to get him clean, not to mention filling the bucket several times and hauling it over to where i was washing him. he’d stand/sit there sulking all the while though

i usually ended looking and feeling like a were-woman because i would end up covered in black fur.

but he loved and i mean loved standing in the rain and getting wet! and thereafter smelling like wet dog!

he loved water! just not baths!

I had a keeshond who liked to sit on the 1st or 2nd step too.
He didn’t swim very well, but he liked the cool water!

here in the land of Oz (Australia) my dogs sit on the first or second pool steps (in the water mind you) and they stay there for hours or till next doors cat shows up
