On one hand I highly doubt the chances of anyone finding a bulldog in the pound. They are one of the most expenscive breed out there.

On the other hand, since bulldogs are prone to such a VAST number of physical deformities some owners would rather dump the bulldog than pay to repair a chronic case of screw tail.

Pound puppehs is teh bestest kind! Mai goggie was reskyoo and she one a the best.
I gotz mai goggie from teh hoomain ‘sighety. Her nawt-sekkund hoomans dinnit lyke dat a puppeh aksidentilly stepped in der wet paynt. Silly hoomans… now we haz a great goggeh for ten years sew far!

My parents came into the ownership of a pedigreed Newfoundland (I think I’ve told stories about Weber here before) because his first owners had a horse farm and he “harassed” the horses. My parents have horses (and cattle, and sheep) and Weber never bothered them. Turns out the problem is that when a dog gets ignored it looks for ways to amuse itself, go figure. Some people are morons.
All my pets, dogs and cats alike, have been rescues with the exception of the sweet finches I got for my high school graduation, and one cat, who was given to me by a friend whose cat had surprise kittens. I’d helped her to sex the kittens (she didn’t know how) and to find homes for the others, so she gave me my pick of the litter. How could I resist? He fell asleep on my arm while I was looking the kittens over.
I laud anyone and everyone who takes in a stray, especially one that’s not necessarily the cutest or the youngest.
