Ai jus adopted a shelter goggie frum PetsMart last week….her name is Minnie, a wire-hair terrier mix, an she used up all her tyme for Animal Care & Control, and was in a foster home close to getting a forever home…or a forever nap. Her nao has a forever home, yyyaayyyy!!!

the coloring is “brindle” and occurs in various breeds including dutch shepherds, pitbulls, boxers, corgis, boston terriers, greyhounds, and bulldogs. It occurs frequently in some breeds (pitbulls, dutch shepherd) and rarely in others (corgis, dachsunds). It’s one of my favorite colorings, but then I’m a torti cat fan, too!

You’re killing me, Smalls! Shelter pics always make me cry. I just found an abandoned dog under a car like 10 minutes ago and I could only call Animal Control and hope for the best because if I bring home ONE MORE dog I will be evicted. Yes, I am That Lady. Everything I own is covered in dog hair and I wouldn’t have it any other way. XOXO

Getting a dog from a breeder might not be so bad. My dog was retired from bench/breeding and needed a forever home too. She lived in a pen outside in Texas heat and that was one of the more responsible breeders, not a puppy mill. Now she adores air conditioning and sleeps on the bed. We love her dearly.

i was out on halloween, and i saw a dog that looked almost exactly like this in relation to the coloring, but it was a lot smaller, so i was wondering if that was just a coincidence or if there actually was a breed that had that brown/black mixed-looking color. it’s so hard to describe.
