ALL dogs have the capability of biting. The BSL are idiots for thinking otherwise, and it’s people like them, who think violent habits are breed specific, that ruin some of the best humor involving dogs. I see pics with captions of pissy chihuahuas all the time. I own a chihuahua. I’m not offended.

I dunno…I have a rescue Dobe and WUV HIM more than anything, but he’s decided that some pretty strange things make good chew toys, so I thought this was funny…It’s obviously a baby *doll* and not a real child in danger, so I don’t really think this pic/caption would make anyone think a Dobe would do this to a real baby!

OK and now to lighten this post up just a bit I’ll share one of the odder – and funnier – items my Duke has decided is a good “binky:” I’ve got this rubber mitt with fine “teeth” on one side and nubs on the other for brushing him…and even though my boy *hates* bathtime with a passion, he always has to carry and nom on his mitt all the way to the doggie wash. I tell myself it’s not sissy…he’s just like one of those bad-boy 50′s “greasers” that always kept their comb in their back pocket!

Actually, “What would I think if the incredibly ignorant parents left an infant alone with ANY dog???

I have a ten yr old Dobe who has been around kids all his life and gives loving puppy kisses to baby faces. I would never leave him alone for one second with a child. And I trust him. I will never be the dog owner caught at the hospital ER saying “well, he never did that before”.

In my life, I have been bitten by two dogs. The first was a Doberman and the second was by a dog whose owner has just assured me that her dog “never bites”.

I get the joke. I get the picture. I don’t get the people who get the idea that because their dobermans (or other dogs) don’t usually do it, or have never done it, that they’re somehow incapable of biting and/or attacking someone.

i don’t care if it’s a toy. i don’t care if the dog truly knows the difference between that and an actual human baby. you can’t prove he does anyway. all i know is that this image is disturbing to me and given that the rest of the stuff on this site is mostly cutesy picture of puppies, i don’t think it belongs here. if this is the kind of stuff you find funny, maybe you should try 4chan.

BSL stands for Breed Specific Legislation. It involves laws dictating what breeds you may or may not have, etc. For example, the banning of “pit bulls” in Denver is considered part of BSL. Not only bully breeds are affected but Huskies, GSDs, yes, even Dobies, and several others as well.

No, my uncle’s dog had a ton of toys when she was growing up which she chewed on and played with then one day (thinking she was playing) almost killed one of the kittens. Dogs would confuse a babydoll with a real baby.
